SLD Technology, LLC designs and manufactures systems and components that simplify design, speed installation and deliver superior performance in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Common applications include modular ceiling systems for operating rooms (OR), procedure rooms, exam rooms and pharmacies requiring unidirectional, low turbulence (laminar) airflow for close temperature and humidity control, and airborne contaminant removal. SLD Technology products are based around the concept of a Single Large Diffuser (SLD) delivering a contiguous blanket of laminar airflow to most effectively sweep airborne contaminants away from the surgical site, patient and providers in the OR. Our ability to incorporate integral lighting and structural equipment mounting elements in complete, factory-built modules that are installed as a single piece makes us unique versus suppliers providing Multiple Diffuser Array (MDA) systems built onsite using independent components (diffusers, lighting, structural supports, etc.)

Healthcare construction in California is notoriously complex, governed by HCAI regulations—the absolute toughest, most stringent building codes in the nation. To ensure hospitals can survive and stay fully operational during major earthquakes, every single pipe, wall, and wire must meet uncompromising seismic standards.

Traditionally, this meant years of painstaking on-site work and lengthy inspection bottlenecks. By leveraging modular and prefabricated construction, we are moving the most complex part of healthcare design, the OR Ceiling, off the job site and into controlled factory settings. Overton Brooks VA Medical Center opened their new Cath Labs in Shreveport, LA earlier this year. Two new specialty cath labs enhance the medical centers’ capabilities for cardiovascular services, and AirFRAME is at the heart of each.
