Presenting our 5-axis machine! The term “5-axis” refers to the number of directions in which the cutting tool can move. On a 5-axis machine, the cutting tool moves across the X, Y, and Z linear axes as well as rotates on the A and B axes to approach the workpiece from any direction. Five sides of a part can be processed in a single setup with this machine!

Here are 3 fun facts for your Wednesday! Welding joints are the strongest, followed by soldered joints then brazed joints. Welding requires about 6,500 degrees Fahrenheit, while soldering requires about 840 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat treatments are always required for a weld, whereas soldering doesn’t require heat treatments.

After these guide blocks are machined, the edges have to be gently sheared off to reduce their sharpness. They are made from ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW), which is an extremely tough plastic with high abrasion and wear resistance.
