Last week, Park Construction participated in Trench Safety Stand Down Week, an annual initiative led by the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) to raise awareness about trenching and excavation hazards and reinforce safe excavation practices. The program encourages employers to pause and have direct conversations with crews about trench safety, protective systems, and hazard recognition.

Throughout the week, our safety team met with utility crews across the company to review trench safety fundamentals, discuss real-world jobsite challenges, and reinforce the importance of planning work safely before excavation begins.

Trenching and excavation remain among the most hazardous activities in construction, which is why proper protective systems, hazard assessments, and ongoing communication are so important. Trench Safety Stand Down Week serves as a valuable reminder that every employee has a role in creating a safe jobsite and looking out for one another.

Construction is underway on Park Construction's segment of the Theodore Roosevelt Expressway expansion in western North Dakota.

Our team is building a 5.5-mile section of new four-lane divided highway through the Little Missouri Breaks, one of the most challenging and scenic landscapes in the country. This work is part of a larger effort to improve U.S. Highway 85, a critical transportation corridor supporting freight movement, energy development, agriculture, tourism, and national defense.

The project involves significant earthwork, with more than three million cubic yards of material expected to be moved over the course of construction. Crews are already making progress as grading operations ramp up throughout the corridor.

This new section of four-lane highway will improve safety, increase transportation efficiency, and help support the long-term vision of the Theodore Roosevelt Expressway. We are proud to be part of a project that will serve North Dakota for generations to come.

Our team is providing comprehensive earthwork, grading, paving, and utility services to help bring this project to life. Projects like this require coordination across multiple disciplines, and we are proud to play a role in building a space that will serve the community for years to come.

From early site development through the final stages of construction, our crews are focused on delivering quality work safely and efficiently every step of the way.

The Fargo-Moorhead Area Diversion Project continues to take shape, and we’re proud to play a role in a project that will help protect homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure from future flooding across the region.

As part of this effort, a segment of the BNSF Railway main line in Fargo, North Dakota was temporarily diverted to allow construction activities to move forward safely and efficiently. With the main line now back up and fully operational, our team is hard at work removing the temporary diversion track.

Projects like this require detailed coordination, careful planning, and a commitment to keeping critical infrastructure moving while major improvements are underway.
