We're excited to see the impact of recent automation projects at our Watertown plant. A new turnkey robotic sanding cell was installed this past week in collaboration with CSRobotics/RMH Systems to support the finishing of a highly cosmetic aluminum casting for an industry leading Powersports manufacturer. After sanding and deburring in-house, the castings move to a final machining operation where the load and unload of the vertical machining center will also be robotically automated. Together, these improvements will increase throughput and boost productivity, while ensuring exceptional product quality for our customer. These advancements reflect our commitment to continual improvement, and we're proud to invest in solutions that drive innovation and deliver value to our customers!

They say "April showers bring May flowers," and while we’re looking forward to the blooms, we’re even more excited about the momentum this spring. From exciting new projects on the floor to helping our partners achieve high-performance results, we are energized and ready for a productive quarter.

Big news from our Minneapolis plant: in February we added multiple dedicated Haas VF-2SS Super-Speed CNC Vertical Machining Centers to deliver exceptional quality castings for our customer and an efficient, reliable process for our operators.

With an upgraded spindle and taper, these CNC’s are built for the complex machining required in the production of a two-part aluminum enclosure. While die casting offers a near-net-shape, post-cast machining is needed to meet this customer’s critical tolerances and form threaded holes to ensure precise mating surfaces and proper alignment in the final assembly.

Our engineering team is completing the Design of Experiments (DOE) as we move through the final sign-off phase for approval and we’re excited to launch this program knowing this investment ensures we’ll hit the delivery schedules with confidence!
