Political attacks on the solar and storage industry are jeopardizing over 450 projects, which account for nearly 40% of all new planned power capacity in the United States. Utilities are facing capacity shortages, particularly due to rising demand from AI, cryptocurrency, oil and gas exploration, and manufacturing growth.
Solar and storage solutions are among the fastest and most cost-effective resources to deploy, making them essential for addressing this growing demand.
I encourage Congress and fellow Americans to advocate for durable, bipartisan, tech-neutral permitting reform that establishes a quicker, fairer process for constructing clean energy infrastructure. Streamlining the permitting process will help reduce electricity costs, enhance grid reliability, unlock American investment, and bolster our nation's energy security.
