We would like to extend a big thanks to all of the faculty and students involved in this years food drive and pie throw competition. We raised 797 cans which were donated to Saint Joseph Catholic Church! A special thanks to Mr. Dustin Spayde for his involvement with this project!

Tomorrow evening we will have our first meeting for ASME where we will talk about fun events like this and introduce our Human Powered Vehicle Team. Come out Tomorrow evening at 5:30 pm!! Room 112 in Carpenter!

The Mississippi ASME Senior Section will be touring Paccar's plant in Columbus on October 20 at 4 p.m. and have invited a group from our Student Chapter to join them. There are still 7 spots left for the tour. Please let me know as soon as possible if this is something you are interested in. You can email me at [email protected]. A meal will be provided beforehand.

The ASME Cowbell Ringer Design Competition has begun. Please send your designs to ASME President Micah Everett at [email protected]. You only need to design; ASME will sponsor the build of the winning design. You can design in groups and the winning team will get to help build their design. Submit your design by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24.

Judging criteria for the design will be ease of use (automated ringers will do best in this area), cost effectiveness, number of cowbells, and ease of build.

Human Powered Vehicle and Super Mileage Vehicle Competitions' interest meeting!

Tonight 9/9/15 at 6:30pm there will be an interest meeting in Carpenter Room 112. Come and see what these groups are about, and possibly join in on these intriguing engineering competitions. The HPVC team is going into its fourth year of competition here at state, and look forward to an exciting year with exciting innovation. This year will also be the first year for state to compete, with enough student involvement, the super mileage competition. Both teams need builders, designers, and overall personnel. Plus, there will be free pizza at the meeting!

So come on by learn a little bit about each of these teams, and get a free meal. We look forward to another year of State advancement , and competition! Hail State!

ASME Kickoff Meeting!

Tomorrow evening State's ASME organization will kickoff this semester's meetings. The meeting will have free pizza and drinks for those who attend and we will have a speaker from Intralox. The meeting is at 6pm, well before Cowbell Yell, in Carpenter Room 112. We will be talking about upcoming events and competitions as well.

We look forward to seeing y'all there! And Go Dawgs!
