The LAQE was well represented at the Spring Undergraduate Research Symposium this week on the Mississippi State campus.

Tori presented the culmination of her two year long project quantifying microplastics in sharks and rays.

Jacob shared his work on exploring which parts of the natural immune system in native Mississippi fishes are most important for resisting infections.

Ben presented on his work in Dr. Correa's lab on how habitat differences in the Pascagoula drainage affect the health and breeding cycles of two minnow species, but we claim him too!

Our lab had a great time attending the Joint Meeting of the Alabama & Mississippi Chapters of the American Fisheries Society in Orange Beach, AL! We were proud to have multiple students sharing their research.

Congrats to Jacob McGee on earning 1st place poster for “A Novel Method of Determining Speciation Dates between Gambusia Species Using Paralogs.” Great work by all of our students!
