Work around cylindrical equipment often involves both circumferential access and overhead activity—such as crews working above on structural steel or process equipment. In these conditions, both 360-degree access and protection from falling objects are important.

The RM3-900S/48 from Lifting Technologies is a three-person round crane man basket with overhead protection, designed for work on tanks, towers, columns, and stacks where overhead hazards are present. The 48″ diameter round footprint positions workers evenly around cylindrical structures, while the overhead canopy provides a barrier against dropped tools and debris from higher elevations.

As with other LiftTech platforms, the RM3-900S/48 is built to comply with OSHA requirements for crane-suspended personnel platforms and is proof-load tested to 125 percent of its rated capacity, with certificates and inspection documentation supplied for safety and compliance records.

Work on cylindrical structures—tanks, process columns, stacks, cooling towers, and silos—poses unique access challenges. Using square or rectangular platforms in these applications often leads to uneven positioning and awkward reaches around corners.

Lifting Technologies designs round crane-suspended man baskets specifically for this type of equipment. The round profile keeps personnel at a consistent distance from the work surface around the full circumference, providing 360-degree access without corner posts.

Our round platforms are optimized for weight-to-capacity ratio and proof-load tested at 125 percent of rated capacity, with documentation included for each unit. This helps maintain crane efficiency while providing appropriate payload capacity for tools and personnel.

Many inspection and maintenance tasks are more efficient and safer with two people working together at height. However, the platform must provide adequate shared workspace while keeping total suspended load compatible with available crane capacity.

The BM2-600G from Lifting Technologies is a Premier Series two-person rectangular crane man basket with a 36″ x 60″ deck and 600 lb maximum rated load. The rectangular footprint offers extended reach along beams, pipe racks, and structural members, reducing the number of crane moves needed for linear tasks while remaining narrow enough to maneuver between steel and process equipment.

The BM2-600G is engineered to comply with OSHA 1926.1431, with 42″ guardrails, 6″ toeboards, an inward-swinging access gate, and multiple tie-off points, and each unit is proof-load tested at 750 lb (125 percent of rated capacity) before shipment. Documentation includes test certificates, inspection checklists, operator guidelines, and access to LiftTech’s online training resources to support site safety and compliance programs.

Linear work—such as beam inspection, boiler waterwall repairs, pipe runs, and conveyor maintenance—can consume considerable crane time if the work platform is too short. Frequent repositioning reduces productive time at elevation and increases overall lift count.

Lifting Technologies produces rectangular multi-person crane man baskets designed to address this issue. Extended platform lengths allow 2–3 person crews to work along a greater portion of the structure from a single crane position, reducing the number of moves required to complete the task.

These platforms are engineered for OSHA compliance and proof-load tested to 125 percent of rated capacity, with full certification and inspection records included. Combined with the detachable Test Weight System, this supports both operational efficiency and site safety requirements.

Not every lift involves people. Many of our customers need to move pallets, crates, or loose material by crane or forklift, with the same level of control they expect from their man baskets.

LiftTech’s MB‑4000‑LT Suspended Material Platform was developed for exactly that kind of work. It is a 56″ x 56″ x 42″ high material platform, rated for 4,000 lb capacity, used on real industrial sites to handle material lifts by crane or forklift. The platform is stackable (loaded or unloaded) to save floor space, and is built with heavy-duty no‑sag grating; an optional solid plate floor is available without adding lead time.

Because this model is frequently requested, we work to keep the MB‑4000‑LT in stock so customers can get an engineered, documented material platform on short notice, rather than relying on improvised solutions.

Many access challenges involve confined or congested areas: wind turbine towers, equipment banks in power plants, or mechanical rooms with limited clearance. Oversized or improvised platforms in these spaces can create additional risk and make positioning more difficult.

LiftTech offers compact single-occupant crane man baskets specifically configured for restricted environments. These baskets are designed in accordance with OSHA 1926.1431, including guardrail height, toeboards, and fall-arrest anchor points, and each unit is supplied with inspection checklists and operator guidelines.

The compact footprint helps maintain clearances around structure and overhead obstructions while keeping total suspended load within a range suitable for a wider variety of crane configurations.

Some elevated tasks require three workers to share a stable platform—inspection lead, assistant, and safety watch, or a small crew handling tools and components at height. In these cases, a properly rated, OSHA-compliant three-person basket is essential.

The SEC3-900 from LiftTech is a Professional Series square crane man basket with a 48″ x 48″ footprint and 900 lb maximum rated load, designed to accommodate three occupants and their tools within OSHA guidelines. The platform is supplied with LiftTech’s detachable Test Weight System, sling assembly, and training resources, supporting proof-load testing and operator familiarization as part of your lift planning.

With its square geometry and Professional Series construction, the SEC3-900 offers a compact, three-person work area for general industrial, construction, and maintenance work where a balanced, central lift point and symmetric footprint are preferred.

During planned outages and shutdowns, scaffolding is not always a practical option for every elevation. Crews still require safe access to turbines, boilers, stacks, and structural steel, but extended setup time can threaten the outage schedule and overall budget.

Lifting Technologies manufactures OSHA-compliant crane-suspended man baskets designed for this type of work. Each platform is engineered to meet or exceed applicable OSHA requirements and ships with proof-load test certification, compliance documentation, and pre-lift guidance so your safety team can review and approve the equipment efficiently.

All units are proof-load tested to 125 percent of rated capacity, and our detachable Test Weight System—provided as standard—allows you to perform pre-lift proof tests in the field without additional equipment.

Built for linear work at height.

The BM3‑900G 3-person rectangular Premier man basket (36" × 84", 900 lb) positions crews along boiler waterwalls, conveyor runs, overhead crane rails, and long beams so they can work progressively along the structure instead of moving the crane after every task.

Premier round-tube construction, OSHA-compliant guardrails and toeboards, and proof-load testing at 1,125 lb provide confidence for every pick.
