Meet the cooks behind last Friday’s Culpeper Air Fest dinner! 👨‍🍳

The culinary students at the Culpeper Technical Education Center (CTEC) put their skills to work through The Blaze Kitchen, preparing the charcuterie board and dinner for the evening.

Pictured with the students is their culinary teacher, Jay Cohen. Thank you to the students, Jay, and CTEC Principal Shaun Summerscales for all the work that went into the evening!

Today wrapped up the STEM event at the Culpeper Airport! ✈️

We enjoyed sharing what we do at Chemung Contracting and Cedar Mountain Stone and seeing the hands on activities and demonstrations other participating companies offered for students to explore. These Day 2 photos highlight some of the learning and fun happening throughout the event!

Last week, Chemung welcomed students from Floyd T. Binns Middle School and Culpeper Middle School for CCPS Manufacturing Day! Students watched a quarry blast and toured our asphalt plant and quarry to learn more about our industry.

We enjoyed giving local students a firsthand look at our operations and introducing them to career opportunities in our community!

We had a great time connecting with local students and introducing them to the construction and aggregates industries through hands on learning and activities.

Chemung enjoyed hosting the VAA LEAD Committee in Culpeper for a day focused on connecting our industry with local education and training opportunities!

Thank you to Shuan Summerscales for guiding us through CTEC and sharing a closer look at the programs available to local students. The day also included a visit to Germanna Community College to explore training opportunities that help prepare students for careers in construction and the asphalt industry.

For us, these connections are especially meaningful because several former CTEC students are now part of the Chemung and Cedar Mountain team. We’re proud to support programs that help students build practical skills and discover career opportunities close to home.

We also enjoyed welcoming the committee to see a quarry blast firsthand. 💥 Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support the future of our industry!
