When designing a custom metal gate, start with your existing architecture. Your gate should reflect the lines and materials already there: horizontal siding works well with horizontal slat patterns, while vertical board-and-batten looks cleaner with vertical pickets.

Reflecting those existing lines creates visual flow instead of clutter. It makes your entryway feel intentional, not like an afterthought bolted to the fence line.
