I’d like to take a moment to thank Charlie Olivia George for helping us build this business to what it is today. She spent countless amounts of time busting her ass to build KDMCs reputation, quality, and performance to where it is now. She came in as an apprentice and left as a highly skilled technician. The growth I’ve seen in her time with Knuckle Down is unlike anything I’ve seen before.

She spent countless nights answering calls with me at 2am and busting missions to rescue stranded people. She supported me when it was time to make tough decisions. She created an environment and a work place to be proud of.

There were days when the monotony of R&R jobs took their toll and there were days when everyone was at each others throats but she always managed to complete her tasks and stay cheerful (in her own way) through it all. She spent hours vehicle hunting with me, making complex business decisions, filing taxes, sifting through mountains of paperwork, and the like. She truly made something special here and her time will not be forgotten.

This business would not be the same without her time she spent here.

Thank you Charlotte Olivia George for everything. Here’s to you and a bright future 🍻 🤘🇺🇸

Had a little semi truck action last night! Got a call for an overheated Freightliner that had lost all of his coolant past Hole in the Rock. Brought 18 gallons of coolant and water along with some sections of hose. Ended up being a loose worm gear clamp on the EGR cooler. 60 minutes from us receiving the phone call from dispatch Jose was back on his was to TX 🤘🇺🇸

Had a super fun recovery today up on the Loop Rd in Moab. Customer states belt fell off my 15’ F250 6.7L and I believe a squirrel is responsible. Customer left the vehicle where it was, unloaded his horse, and rode into work. We got the call about 10am and headed to Carquest Auto-Parts grabbed two idler pulleys, one tensioner assembly, a serpentine belt, and headed in the direction of the immobilized truck.

When we arrived we observed half of a furry friend lodged behind the idler pulley, and the other half of him wedged behind the power steering pulley.

Step one, extricate the obstruction(s)
Step two, assess damages
Step three, repair or replace associated parts
Step four, sanitize tools
Step five, turn vehicle on and test

My head tech Aaron Jones and I were able to get this ranch truck back up and running again same day it broke down! Love that we have parts readily available and a community that is willing to help each other through all of life’s little mysteries it throws our ways

Same day axle swap. Customer called around 0730 informing us he’d smashed into a concrete crash barrier at the gas station. He had driven about 30 miles and his tire began to show wear. He scheduled at 1000 asking for us to verify straightness and we verified it was no longer straight. We called around to couple of places in Grand Junction and we were able to find an identical axle that just so happened to be laying around at Pine Mountain RV center. We had a buddy down in Grand Junction and he was able to pick up the part and drop it off before 2pm. Axle was installed on the spot and customer was able to begin his 14 hour drive back to Michigan. Another happy customer back on the road.

Got a call for a Jeep with a broken tie rod end today on Strike Ravine in Moab UT just outside of area BFE. Brought the Legace Welder out to stretch her legs. The power wagon handled the trail beautifully in 4low. Welded the tie rod end back together and made sure the customers steering wheel was straight. Finished the trail with him as it began to snow and he made it all the way home. This was a kick ass EJS and I’m thrilled and honored to have been called by so many of you.

Had a fun one yesterday. Bruiser Conversations Jeep JK with a LS3. This baby is a 2012 and converted in 2013 into a Gladiator before they were released by Jeep. Excellent body work and an amazing powerhouse moving the 40’s on D60’s. The customers concern was that his shifter was refusing to go into 4L. After investigating we found the shifter cable was too short and preventing the range of travel required to bump the tcase shift bracket into 4L. We adjusted the cables interface with its bracket but it no longer fit as we used a different mounting point, so we created a bushing for the cable assembly that allowed the cable to be retained by the bracket and were able to get the shifter back and functioning properly. Stoked to get this rig to get back out on the trails same day.

Our first year of business was wild. We saw a lot, we learned a lot, we did a lot. We had about a 98% completion rate on all jobs. I can’t begin to express my gratitude to all of you who had faith in us, and even though you knew it was our first year of business you still decided to support us and use us for your repairs. I never would have imagined that any of this was possible. Can’t wait to see what this year has in store.
