This is a story we hear every year. A homeowners AC finally gave out. And it rarely happens in April!
It usually happens in July because thats when the thing is working over time.
And so, if your AC unit is getting to the end, here is something to consider. When its 84 degrees, mid-heatwave and the kids are miserable, most people are not shopping smart. They are desperate and, unfortunately, can end up working with a company who takes advantage of them. They usually go with the first contractor who shows up on Google because they just want cold air and you want it now. Understandably!
And yet, if they don't happen to stumble upon an honest contractor, that little reactive decision ends up costing them $5,000–$10,000.
There is a better way. Be the homeowner who recognizes that your unit is going out and proactively plans before the heat hits.
