Happy Juneteenth! Today we celebrate freedom and honor the Black Americans whose contributions have shaped our world in ways that often go unrecognized.

In 1872, Thomas J. Martin was awarded a U.S. patent for an improved fire extinguishing system using pressurized water piped through buildings to overhead nozzles. Sound familiar? It should. His innovation helped lay the groundwork for the modern fire sprinkler systems protecting lives and buildings to this day.

We don’t take that legacy lightly.

While warehouse fire frequency has declined over the past 50 years, financial losses are trending upward. This is a clear signal that the complexity of these hazards demands more sophisticated protection strategies.
