Good morning, Gulf Coast.

Quick one today. If your outdoor unit ever starts making a rhythmic clicking sound right when it kicks on or shuts off, that's usually just the contactor doing its job. Totally normal.

But if that clicking turns into a constant rattle, or you hear something that sounds like it's grinding, that's different. That's usually a loose part or a fan blade hitting something it shouldn't.

Knowing the difference between "normal operating sound" and "something's wrong" can save you a headache. When in doubt, it's worth a call rather than waiting to see if it gets worse.

Good morning, Gulf Coast.

We had a customer tell us recently that our tech showed up during a downpour to get their new unit installed and didn't complain once, just got the job done and treated their home with respect the whole time.

That's the kind of thing that actually means something to us. Weather doesn't stop when somebody's AC goes out, and it shouldn't stop us either.

We're proud of the people who represent this company out on the road every day. Stories like that are why we do it the way we do.

Good morning, Gulf Coast.

We're deep into hurricane season, and most people think about generators, water, and boarding up windows. Your HVAC system usually doesn't make the list, but it should.

A power surge from a storm can fry a system that was running perfectly fine an hour earlier. If you don't already have surge protection on your unit, that's worth looking into before the next system rolls through the Gulf.

Also, if you lose power, don't just flip your AC back on the second it comes back. Give it a few minutes. Switching it on the instant power returns can strain the compressor.

We are so happy to have Aaron and Scott back on the Estes team. Honestly, thankful doesn't even cover it.

These two are some of the best service guys in Mobile and Baldwin County, and it shows. They genuinely care about the people they're helping, not just the job in front of them.

Scott started with us back in 1997 and gave us 26 years before stepping away for a bit. He's back as of August 2026. Outside of work you'll find him on the golf course, spending time with family, and he just became a grandpa for the first time!

Aaron joined us in 2014 and was with us for 9 years before moving on. He's back as of July 2026. When he's not working he's at the beach, fishing, or hanging out with his family.

Welcome back, guys. Mobile and Baldwin County, you're in good hands again.

August is usually the month that finishes off a system that's been struggling all summer. Not because anything dramatic happens, just because the heat doesn't let up and there's no more room for a system to hide its problems.

If yours is over 12 years old and you've called us more than once this year, that's worth a real conversation. Not every old system needs replacing, but a lot of them are costing more to keep running than people realize.

We're closing in on Labor Day, and a lot of systems out there have been running nonstop since April without much of a break. If yours has started sounding a little off, or just working harder for the same result, that's not something to shrug off this late in the season.

This is usually when the wear finally shows up. Better to deal with it this week than wait for the holiday weekend to prove you wrong.
