Early morning job at 5 AM this morning at consumer cellular, the business we did the electrical for about eight months ago.

Lightning struck and blew out 10 of the emergency light fixtures.

⚡ From outdated and unsafe… to safe, clean, and code-compliant.

Today’s project was a complete electrical service upgrade. We replaced an older 100-amp service with a new 200-amp service and installed a brand-new interior electrical panel—all in the same day.

One of the biggest issues we found was the way the existing panel had been installed years ago. Instead of the branch circuits entering the panel properly, multiple Romex cables were actually coming out of the drywall, exposed for several inches, and then disappearing back into the drywall before entering the panel. It was an extremely unusual installation that left the wiring vulnerable to physical damage and was far from the way it should be done.

We corrected the installation by:
✔️ Upgrading the home to a new 200-amp electrical service.
✔️ Installing a new, properly mounted electrical panel.
✔️ Routing and securing all branch circuits correctly.
✔️ Leaving the homeowner with a much safer, cleaner, and code-compliant electrical system.

Electrical problems aren’t always obvious. Sometimes the most serious hazards are hidden in plain sight until the panel cover comes off.

If your home has an older electrical service or you’ve noticed something that just doesn’t look right, it may be worth having it inspected. A small issue today can become a much bigger problem tomorrow.

As a local, family-owned electrical contractor, we take pride in doing things the right way—not just the easy way.

It is so important to have a Generator of some kind.

I truly appreciate every recommendation, tag, and referral y’all send my way. It means more than you know.

I also wanted to share some information that I recently confirmed directly with the Alabama Electrical Contractors Board regarding unlicensed electrical work. This changed this year.

This isn’t about trying to get anyone in trouble or make it harder for people to earn a living. It’s about protecting homeowners, businesses, and the people doing the work.

Electrical work isn’t just another trade—it has the potential to cause fires, serious injuries, or even fatalities if it’s not done correctly. That’s why licensing, permits, and inspections exist.

If you’re hiring someone to perform electrical work, take a minute to verify they’re properly licensed and insured. It can save you a lot of money, headaches, and potential liability down the road.

Thanks again for all the continued support. Stay safe out there!

Thankful for these messages when I do get them. 🙌

Today in Semmes, storm and tree damage caused a service mast failure and arced one of the feeders.

We pulled the permit, coordinated utilities, passed inspection, and had them safely restored the same day.

We’re a local, family-owned business, not a big corporation, and when safety’s on the line, we move fast because you’re our neighbors.

If you’ve got overgrown limbs near your service or signs of damage, reach out before it becomes an emergency.’

A lot of people don’t realize this until they’re halfway through setting up a mobile home…

Getting a power pole installed is only one piece of the puzzle. ⚡

Before the power company can typically energize a new mobile home service, there are often several other requirements that have to be completed, including:
✅ Septic permit
✅ Site evaluation/assessment through the Mobile County Board of Health
✅ Plumbing permit and connection (where required)
✅ Electrical inspection and utility approval

I made this quick 3-minute video to explain the process and hopefully save someone time, money, and a lot of frustration.

If you’re planning to set up a mobile home in Mobile County, watch this before you start.

If you have questions about the electrical side of the process, give us a call. We’d be happy to help guide you through it.

👇 Watch the video below, and feel free to share it with someone who might be planning a new mobile home setup.
