As we were reminded during this morning's engineering meeting, our Spring/Summer 2026 internship is coming to a close. It's always a bittersweet time as our interns become valued members of the team before heading back to school.

This year, we'd like to recognize Manuel Barragan for the enthusiasm, curiosity, and strong work ethic he brought to our design team. It has been a pleasure watching him grow, and we have no doubt he'll do great things in his career. We hope to be part of that journey again someday.

A special thank you to Hannah Hart for her outstanding mentorship throughout Manuel's internship. It's especially rewarding to see a former intern now helping develop the next generation of engineers.

Recently, one of our valued clients heard through the grapevine that Factory Technologies has extensive experience upgrading the controls on fruit presses commonly used throughout the industry. While these presses may appear to be identical, many have evolved through different design iterations over the years, and most facilities have implemented their own unique customizations. Every upgrade requires an understanding of both the original equipment and the specific needs of the operation.

For this project, the client requested a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) for the blower and IO-Link connectivity for the field devices.

Have you ever received or inherited a beautiful piece of equipment, only to find out that the control panel is not UL508A compliant?

Factory Technologies recently supported a valued client with upgrading and rebuilding an industrial control panel to achieve UL508A compliance standards.

As seen in the BEFORE pictures, the panel was well designed and manufactured. However, upon UL inspection, some of the power components did not meet requirements – which is when FTI was engaged to bring the panel to compliance.

RETURN THE SMOKE !!!

We were recently referred to a new client after they experienced a catastrophic failure with a Dynamic Brake Resistor. Our team jumped in quickly and rebuilt the upper half of the panel to get them back up and running with minimal downtime.

Huge shoutout to the Factory Technologies team for putting the smoke back where it belongs — inside the panel.

It appears that we've started a new tradition. For the second year in a row, we held an employee pot luck - and once again it was filled with laughter, stories and great food. We are extremely grateful to be surrounded by such amazing people.
