As Artemis II prepares to return astronauts to the Moon for the first time in over 50 years, Stratolaunch is proud to support the National Aeronautic Association (NAA) in recognizing this historic mission.
As an NAA member, we’re honored to help celebrate the achievements that will shape the future of human spaceflight.
We look forward to following the mission and recognizing the accomplishments of the Artemis II crew as this next chapter unfolds.
On April 1, 2026, is scheduled to launch Artemis II, the first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years. As the oldest national aviation organization in the United States and the sole domestic authority for certifying aerospace records, the NAA must position itself at the center of this historic milestone. This mission is not merely a return to the Moon; it is a record-shattering event that will redefine the boundaries of human flight.
Artemis II is not just a mission; it is a series of pending world records. The four-person crew, Americans Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian Jeremy Hansen, will perform a lunar flyby that creates several "firsts" requiring NAA/FAI ratification, including the Human Distance Record. The crew is expected to reach a distance of approximately 400,171 km from Earth, surpassing the record set by Apollo 13 in 1970.
This marks the first crewed flight of the Space Launch System (SLS), the most powerful rocket ever to reach orbit.
Our team at the is standing by to officially certify the historic milestones of . We’ve been the gold standard for flight records since 1905. The record books are about to be rewritten!
