Berkeley Electric is excited to keep our partnership with the Charleston RiverDogs going strong for the 2026 season!

Tomorrow, we're shining the spotlight on Rhonda Parsons, a Member Services Specialist who's spent the past nine months serving our Johns Island members. Rhonda will step onto the field at tomorrow's game to throw out the first pitch. Be sure to watch the big screen for a special video tribute in her honor!

Way to go, Rhonda! We're cheering you on!

Berkeley Electric is proud to support Newborns in Need with their fall collection drive, Sleepers in September.

September is Baby Safety Month, and this drive supports safe sleep practices by collecting sleepers for babies in need so they can maintain a safe temperature.

Boxes are available at the Moncks Corner, Johns Island, and Goose Creek district offices for new or gently worn sleepers or sleep sacks, sizes newborn to 18 months.

The drive will run through the end of October.

What if your art class looked more like an inventor's workshop? At Dr. Eugene Sires Elementary School, it's about to! The Cardboard Engineering and Wearable Art Design Lab is turning the art room into a full-on STEAM innovation studio where students dream up, build and wear their own creative solutions to real-world problems. Think safety gear, kindness badges and gadgets straight out of a kid's imagination.

Congratulations to Kellene Smith and Abby Clark for being selected as 2026 Berkeley Electric Bright Ideas Education Grant winners! We love seeing educators who equip students with the tools and confidence to become inventors. 💡

September is National Preparedness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of preparing for emergencies. Whether it's a natural disaster, medical emergency, or any unforeseen event, being prepared can make all the difference.

Take time to develop a plan, assemble supplies, and stay updated. By working together, we can help guarantee that our families and communities are adequately equipped to handle anything Mother Nature throws at us.

Cooperation among cooperatives is what it's all about! ⚡

Our neighbors at Edisto Electric Cooperative have seen unbelievable residential growth in Dorchester County, with many new subdivisions joining their service territory. With that growth comes the need to design and maintain underground systems that require specialized equipment.

When Edisto Electric recently installed underground switchgear in one of the subdivisions they serve, their crews hadn't had much hands-on experience with it. Knowing Berkeley Electric has hundreds of these units on our own system, they reached out to our own Kevin Mizzell to see if he'd conduct hands-on training with their employees in the field.

Kevin spent the day educating Edisto's linemen on the safe operation and troubleshooting of this switchgear, helping ensure their crews are prepared to safely serve their members as their system continues to grow.

This is what makes the cooperative family so special. Cooperatives across South Carolina are always willing to share resources, knowledge, and expertise when one of us is in need.

A huge THANK YOU to Kevin Mizzell for representing Berkeley Electric so well, and for your time, knowledge, and commitment to training our fellow co-op's linemen. We're proud of you!
