How can a small business in Asheville, North Carolina be affected by the fires in Australia?

The macroeconomic chasm reaches far beyond borders in the world of Ecommerce: one key wordpress plug-in that operates multiple Payment gateways for Prama Institute & Wellness Center started to fail just after the fires started, and once it failed the whole Ecommerce platform was not able to take payments, therefore causing my client to almost lose thousands of dollars in sales on their biggest sale of the year, New Year's Day. The customer support of the plug-in is located deep in Australia where the fires have been burning for weeks, and we have gotten no response from them. Managers at wordpress told me that there was absolutely nothing that I could do to save the payment system... until I found a work-around hack today and everything is finally back to normal!!!

Our hearts, souls and prayers go out to the web development teams in Australia, and also to all of the businesses around the world that are affected by this issue.
