Phillips Metal Works is a small ironworks shop specializing in hand forged ironwork. We offer a collection of drapery hardware, lighting, furniture, fireplace tools and screens, mailboxes and accessories. Our shop is is staffed by meticulous craftsmen with many decades of design and iron working experience.

We are excited about seeing Cutting Up exhibited at the Orlando Administrative Center Sculpture Garden.

Installation will be Thursday, Jan 19th and the opening reception will be Friday, Jan 20th at 5:30 pm. The Sculpture Garden is located at 201 South Rosalind Ave. Orlando, FL 32801 if anyone wants to swing by!

These large hinges are headed to Fairhope to hold up a 14 foot wood gate with an in ground operator. The hinge pins have oil impregnated bronze bushings riding on a chrome shaft for smooth operation. The hinge plates are textured and powder coated 1/2 inch plate. These have been a departure from our typical work. We hope the client enjoys them.

These are the sconces we made for Ravello from the pile of parts I posted earlier. The sconces were built in 2 stages, with a fairly elaborate base plate that was bolted to the existing brick walls before the drywall was put up. Once the interiors were ready, we made the sconce so it would bolt into the base. The iron and bronze sconces were polished, then chemically blackened, then burnished before a clear coat was applied.
