And in the past 4 years, this has gotten even more compressed.

If you want to create a warm and inviting atmosphere inside or outside your home, installing LED lighting strips and light bulbs is an investment worth making.

Not only do these lights provide excellent accents in bedrooms, game rooms, and entertainment rooms, but they also give you more control over your environment by allowing you to adjust lighting levels easily via mobile apps.

Whether through a system like Savant that can easily control all aspects of an entire home or office, or something more basic just as a starting point, we find that homeowners are so pleased with the results.

We hope to have the opportunity to do the same for you!

Installing a video system can be a great way to ensure your security and peace of mind. With the ability to see who is at your gate, you can decide if they should be allowed in or not. It offers extra protection, convenience, and flexibility that traditional intercoms and access systems don't offer.

We just installed a new gate code access point using the Holovision system. After pulling the wire out to the gate, we were able to get this homeowner full video, audio, and control of the gate. This keypad is over 200 feet from the house. This homeowner has expressed how pleased they are with the result.

Holovision's system lets you or others access your property with just the touch of a finger. No more worrying about lost keys, access codes, or waiting for someone to come open the gate.

The design looks very sleek. It is easy to operate from anywhere in the world, and to do so from any device connected to the Internet.

If you're not already following Lighthouse Technologies' Facebook channel, be sure to follow us today and explore the world of secure access solutions - gates, doors, windows, security systems, and monitored surveillance too.

GPT 3 is a technology that automatically writes responses - not from curating other answers, but from generating responses in natural language. That tech has been combined with a speech synthesizer and motorized expressions that are nearly realistic, in this robot called Ameca.

Nothing in this conversation is pre-scripted. It's both creepy and incredible.

Would you have a robot like this in your home or business?

This demo couples automated speech recognition with GPT 3 - a large language model that generates meaningful answers - the output is fed to an online ...

AI Technology is allowing people to record themselves while they're still alive, answering a series of questions on camera with multiple cameras so that an AI can get a profile about who they are and how they respond.

Then, after they're gone, the AI can still "act as" them (on video) based on things it "knows" about how they would respond.

1. Would you do this for yourself so other people would be able to connect with you, in this way, after you're gone?

2. Is there someone in your life who you would want to do this, so that you could talk with them after they're gone?

Marina Smith, a 87-year-old woman who passed away in June, was able to talk to the people at her own wedding in the UK — all thanks to the power of AI.

Will be interesting to see where this one ends up. Google is suing Sonos over smart speakers...

But Sonos launched the first volley (maybe the first volley?) with their lawsuit in 2020.

Apparently Google now feels like Sonos is infringing on their patents and feels like it needs to be settled in court.

But Sonos first filed claiming "that Google had copied its connected home speaker technology to create Google Home and other devices. January’s ruling found that Google had infringed on Sonos’ intellectual property, forcing Google to adjust the features of some of its products."

The court sided in favor of Sonos on that count, but Google claims that "Sonos needed Google’s company resources to integrate its voice assistant with its speakers, which included hours of work from Google employees."

"Sonos has decided to compete in the courtroom, and started an aggressive and misleading campaign against our products, at the expense of our shared customers,” José Castañeda, Google Spokesperson, told Gizmodo in an email."

Just something we're keeping an eye on to see how it affects both companies' smart speakers, since we work a lot with smart speakers in homes and offices

Google is claiming that Sonos' voice control technology infringes patents.

Did anyone else experience Google's downtime? Still unclear what caused it, but it's amazing when the large providers go down. We all have some level of dependency on services offered by Google/Apple/Amazon, but there are also lots of backbone services we all interact with on a daily basis (like Cloudflare and Wordpress... which help manage about 35-40% of the sites we all visit online).

Let us know if you experienced this outage and what your experience was... Also, we can help if you're looking for possibilities for alternatives.

Happy Password Day! Yes, there's a ridiculous "holiday" even for passwords. But the important thing here is that you are aware of how secure/insecure your passwords are.

Today is the day to take 5 minutes and shore up the security phrase/words you use when logging in to your devices and systems.

Passwords are like underwear: Change them often, put them away somewhere others don't see them, don’t share them, and don’t leave them lying around.

Also, never use the same password for all your online activity, because if a service is breached and your password is exposed, cybercriminals may try it on another account.

Never gonna give up this prank...

The technology for powering drone displays in the sky is incredible. These have been seen above major cities - first in China, but also in other cities around the world.

And now... as an April Fool's Joke... (a likely expensive one) built by a Fort Worth company that does these drone displays, pranking the whole city of Dallas with a RickRoll QR Code.

Check the comments for a short video of the set up and reaction...
