With the weather moving in tonight and the moisture in the air, your outside unit ( if a heat pump) may freeze up.
No need to worry most of them have an emergency heat or auxiliary heat option on your thermostat that you need to use while we experience this winter weather.
Simply turn your system on your thermostat to this emergency or auxiliary heat setting and when it warms up outside everything should be back to normal.

With the ice coming down, if you have a heat pump, turn your normal heat off and turn the emergency or auxiliary heat to on. Ice is sticking to your fan motor and fan blades on your outside unit and will cause it to be out of balance. We are aware of the post C&L Electric coop put on facebook last week. With that being said in this weather your heat pump is not heating the way is should, so as a HVAC contractor we recommend you turning your heater to Emergency Or Auxillary Heat to heat your house!! The snow and ice on the ground and extreme temperatures are very rare to the this area creating EMERGENCY or AUXILLARY conditions.
