Fruits and veggies making music? Yes, really!

For their first-ever appearance at STEAMfest, Iredell County Public Library brought an amazing hands-on experience that let kids turn everyday produce into a musical keyboard using Makey Makey circuits. It was a hit with curious minds of all ages!

Drone soccer is real—and it’s awesome! At STEAMfest 2025, families stepped into the high-energy drone soccer arena hosted by City Labs, where they learned to pilot drones through hoops and compete in thrilling aerial challenges.

Exploring science up close! At STEAMfest 2025, the Davidson College Department of Biology invited guests to examine monarch butterflies under microscopes and learn how scientists assess their health. This hands-on booth was a hit with curious minds of all ages!

Shoutout to for bringing this incredible LEGO robot to STEAMfest 2025! Featured at the BrickEd Academy booth, this robot amazed attendees as it worked through the challenge of solving a Rubik’s Cube with precision and creativity.

One of the many interactive activities at this year’s FREE event, it was a perfect example of how STEM and imagination come together.

STEAMfest 2025 opened with inspiring words from Holly Honeycutt, Head of School at , welcoming the crowd and launching a day of exploration and excitement.

This FREE event featured over 100 hands-on STEM and arts activities, educational vendors, local artisans, non-profits, food trucks, and live entertainment. It was a day to remember for the entire community!

Woodlawn School teacher Sam Packard brought a little joie de vivre to the French booth in the Heritage @ STEAMfest area! Guests got hands-on with French culture by sculpting their own mini French baguettes out of air-dry clay while learning about the language and traditions of France.

Sam teaches Upper School French at and brings his passion for global learning to everything he does—merci, Monsieur Packard!

On Sunday, April 6th, dozens of organizations and hundreds of volunteers came together to make STEAMfest 2025 an unforgettable experience! Nearly 100 free hands-on STEM and arts activities filled the Woodlawn School campus, inviting youth of all ages to explore, create, and be inspired.
