We are halfway through our 100 Acts of Service for 100 Years of Service!

For Acts 51-57, our teams mentored high school students in hands-on construction, spotlighted water’s critical role in communities, prepared garden beds, donated furniture, led a water treatment demonstration for middle-schoolers, offered shadowing experiences, and more.

Take a look at the organizations we partnered with:

🔸Connect for Success NC S.H.E.D. (Students’ Hands-On Experience Day) Event
🔸Five Rivers MetroParks (Dayton)
🔸Central Ohio Children’s Water Festival
🔸Junior Achievement of Greater Cleveland
🔸University School
🔸Elizabethtown North Carolina Community Center
🔸Hawken School

To celebrate our 100-Year Anniversary, Shook is completing 100 Acts of Service throughout 2026 as we live our Mission, To Dramatically Improve the Communities We Serve.

We’re so proud of our teams’ dedication. Stay tuned to see what they do next.

Bringing the outdoors in — while supporting critical care.

We’re proud to share the completion of the Ventilator Program Addition at the Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities in Mantua.

Serving as construction manager, Shook delivered a 10,000-square-foot addition featuring state-of-the-art equipment and technology to support residents who rely on constant respiratory care.

The new addition includes 14 semi-private rooms and a shared living area that, with its tree sculptures and murals, is designed to bring the outdoors in. It also features art and music therapy spaces, along with administrative offices.

Earlier in construction, we were privileged to celebrate a topping-out ceremony alongside Hattie Larlham officials, marking a milestone in bringing this space to life.

Our work at the Mantua facility continues, with building-wide renovations and refreshes underway across the 129,000-square-foot campus serving 124 residents.

Construction within an active healthcare environment requires careful phasing to avoid disrupting daily operations. Shook is proud to take an approach centered on care for the residents and staff at the Mantua campus.

Special thanks go out to Hattie Larlham and our design partner, Payto Architects.

We are honored to be part of this meaningful project that enhances lives in the community.

Congratulations to Shook’s 2026 Joe Reich Safety Award winners!

This year, 23 individual team members were recognized for going above and beyond to keep our job sites safe. This award highlights above-average effort, genuine care, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.

Kudos also go to the team from the Cuyahoga County Public Library, Parma Heights Branch, which received the project award.

Thank you for setting the standard and making safety a commitment we live every day.

This is a moment we’re incredibly proud of at Shook.

Seeing Steve Pokwo, Project Manager in our Midwest Region, recognized as a Dayton Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree is a celebration not just of his accomplishments, but of who he is as a leader and teammate.

Whether he’s onstage receiving this honor at the recent celebration or serving others on Shook’s Global Mission Trip to Guatemala, Steve consistently reflects our Core Values: being passionate about making a difference, authentic in his approach, curious to keep growing, and empowering those around him.

We’re proud to celebrate Steve!

At our recent Annual Meeting, Shook teammates from across our regions came together in a big way by completing the 50th outreach event in our 100 Acts of Service for 100 Years of Service and officially reaching the halfway mark of this initiative!

Working in groups, Shook teammates assembled 30 picnic tables to support Camp because I said I would, an Ohio organization dedicated to building resiliency skills and mental health habits. After assembly, Shook’s Equipment Center delivered the tables, which camp staff will place throughout the grounds to create welcoming spaces for campers to gather and connect.

As we celebrate our 100-Year Anniversary, Shook teams are completing 100 Acts of Service throughout 2026 as our way of giving back to the communities that have supported us.
Reaching the halfway milestone was even more meaningful because teammates from across the company came together with a shared purpose.

Stay tuned to see what’s next in our 100 Acts of Service!

As we celebrate our 100-Year Anniversary, we’re proud to honor our Mission, “To Dramatically Improve the Communities We Serve.” And it starts with our people.

Our 2026 Annual Meeting and anniversary celebration brought together more than 300 team members from all four of Shook’s regions. The day was filled with camaraderie, connection, and shared insights as we reflected on our progress and what’s ahead. It also brought a lot of team building, a meaningful service project, and plenty of fun along the way.

We wrapped it up with an evening anniversary party featuring music, games, and a chance to celebrate 100 years together.

Our Annual Meeting is always a great reminder of the energy, collaboration, and purpose that makes Shook a special place for our people and the clients we serve.

We’re celebrating the completion of a critical infrastructure project at the Renneker Water Treatment Plant in Warren County, Ohio — the first municipal PFAS removal system online in the state of Ohio.

Shook delivered this PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances) removal system to the existing nanofiltration facility, allowing the county to eliminate reliance on neighboring communities for water.

Despite a tight schedule and long lead times for key equipment, we kept the project on track and under budget through close coordination with the county and suppliers.

Special thanks go out to our design partner, AECOM, and Warren County Water & Sewer Department officials.

We’re proud to strengthen Warren County’s water infrastructure.
