Job Description:
Primary duties include diagnosing, repairing, and/or refurbishing a wide array of used industrial machinery and laboratory equipment. Testing equipment usually requires safely using 3 phase power and working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical control systems as well as mechanical systems. Repair work can be as simple as replacing switches and sensors or as involved as ground-up rebuilds. Being resourceful with time and parts to get the machine working as quickly as possible is very important. The degree and scope of work is very wide and never dull.

Qualifications:
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and repair mechanical systems
• Strong electrical aptitude with knowledge of control systems and 3 phase power
• Ability to troubleshoot control systems and components with some PLC experience
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read schematics and diagrams
• Welding, cutting, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics and forklift operation are pluses but not required
• Industrial experience preferred, but also willing train
• Physically capable to lift and move 50-70lbs

We are seeking a product listing specialist who is also mechanically inclined for creating item listings for industrial surplus, machinery and laboratory equipment. This is a very diverse job due to the incredibly varied assortment of products the lister will be dealing with. The specialist will perform all phases of listing items from identifying the item to listing the item on the Heritage Equipment website and ebay. We are willing to train the specialist some of the skills required for the job, but the applicant should be familiar with basic mechanical items and terms. Initial wage rate will depend on the depth of knowledge in the mechanical and IT fields.

We also sell parts and assemblies from equipment similar to machines that we sell. The equipment is purchased used from various sources and logged into inventory. Essential functions:

• Prepare items for photos and testing by cleaning, minor assembly
• Enter initial item description including features and specifications into database
• Photograph, process and archive pictures in database
• Research item as to specifications and applications
• Determine value of an item by researching comparables
• List item for sale online
• Maintain internal inventory database
• Put item away on shelves
• Retrieve items from shelves after they sell

Skills required
• Strong computer skills required.
• Ebay experience a plus but not required
• Mechanically inclined
• Attention to details is a must

Old 24” quadruple bourdon tube pressure gauge! This thing is a marvel of old engineering. By using a k**b on the front panel you select 1 of 4 pressure ranges which changes the display masks as well as which bourdon tube is used. The bourdon tubes operate a complex system of levers and rack gears to ultimately move the indicator dial with the assistance of an air powered compensation system. This gauge and compression frame were made in 1941 and still work great! It is amazing that the entire mechanical gauge system can be replaced with a pressure sensor and digital display...but they are no way as cool as this thing!!

Fun with scientific instruments!
We had to test a -100 Deg C calibration bath so we put some standard automotive coolant to the test. The manufacturer states that a 70/30 mixture of coolant to water lowers the freezing point down to -70 Deg C. At this temperature the coolant looks like a frozen margarita but it is not frozen solid so I guess their claim is close to valid:)

Ritesize machines are used to make medium sized runs of packing cartons for box making companies or manufacturing companies looking to reduce packaging material inventory. This 84" wide electronic model can produce different sized cartons with ultra quick change-over times due to the computerized control system. Box sizes are entered into the control panel and the creasing dies automatically are positioned. Cardboard sheets are feed into the machine and a finished blank is slit, scored and creased in one pass.
