We measured the impact on tool life during a milling application between TENDO Platinum hydraulic tool holder and an ER25 collet chuck.

The TENDO Platinum averaged 6 cylinders while the collet chuck only made it through 3.5.
— That's over 70% more material removed per cutter!! 🤯 Less tool breakage and less wasted carbide.

The TENDO Platinum paid for itself in under 20 hours of cut time! https://ow.ly/qBH250Z5GBW

The best robotic automation doesn't replace skilled workers, it promotes them!

In this interview, we sit down with Fritz Carlson, CEO and President of Acme, who's spent years introducing robotic solutions into medical implant manufacturing.

When a precision-critical implant is being finished, like an as-cast knee, it needs to be made perfectly. Surface finish directly affects how long that implant lasts inside a patient's body. A robot can hold tolerances a human physically can't, especially on complex geometry like a J-curve.

Watch the full interview to hear why more manufacturers are moving away from the 3Ds, and what that means for the people doing the work.

What do you think the unsung hero of toolholding is? 🤔

It’s intermediate sleeves!

Sleeves are one of the simplest ways to effectively extend your tool life. Choose the right sleeve for your application and watch your machining accuracy and tool life increase. SCHUNK offers two types of sleeves in multiple ID / OD options making it quick and easy to find the right one for your unique application

Most young adults feel they have to choose between school and work after high school. Apprentices who join SCHUNK and NCTAP choose both. They earn a degree while getting paid to gain hands-on experience - contributing to the company and building their own future from day one.

This photo captures some of the talented young men and women in the program—from first-year apprentices just taking the first steps in their career, to graduates now working full-time at SCHUNK and continuing to grow in their chosen field. Each one is gaining real-world experience while advancing their education.

We’re grateful they chose SCHUNK, and we're proud to be given the opportunity to invest in their future.

During National Apprenticeship Week, and every week, we celebrate those who take this path. Your future is bright!

Switching from router-based to laser depaneling? Here's what you need to know.

Dr. Markus Bohrer breaks down the top three advantages of laser depaneling:
✅ Zero mechanical stress — ideal for delicate components
✅ Zero dust — a completely clean process
✅ Freedom of design — cut curves, not just straight lines

If your boards use mixed materials, SCHUNK's combo laser + milling spindle machine handles it all.
