Moscow Hide and Fur needs a skinner/prep person this Fall.
We are looking for someone who has experience skinning and fleshing hides and preferable also detailed work prepping hides for taxidermy work, doing the eyes, lips and ears and skinning out the feet properly. We can train the right person who only has skinning experience.
Also salting hides, working with antlers and other miscellaneous warehouse duties. It could be full or part time for the right person. It would require some heavy lifting. We have had excellent male and female skinners.
When we post on a job board we get hundreds of people who just click "Apply" and have no interest or experience. There's not really a category for us and people don't usually list this kind of experience on resumes. So we thought we would reach out this way first.
We get busiest in October when hunting season starts.
If this sounds like you, let us know about your availability and experience in person at 1760 N Polk Ext, Moscow, Idaho, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Pay would depend on experience and we offer bonuses and a health plan and vacation pay for full time.
Anyone is welcome, but we are gearing this post to people who will already be in our area, such as a student or spouse at the University of Idaho or Washington State University. We aren't recommending that someone pack up their family and move here just for this.
About Us
Moscow Hide and Fur has been in business since 1973, growing from a garage to a large commercial warehouse. We primarily sell products online and ship them to customers, so we were able to operate and not shut down during the pandemic.
Our business doesn't fit any category. A day at work may involve buying antlers in the morning then skinning and prepping a coyote and packing hides for shipment in the afternoon. And the next day will be different.
