Lidar is an amazing tool to help prospectors see through trees and ground cover to find placer mines they never knew existed. This area has a huge number of overgrown old mine workings that are easily missed, which I have marked in red. With Lidar, old mining areas that are long forgotten stand out like a sore thumb - and some are unclaimed.
