Thanks to Florida Trend for the conversation. Expanding EV charging infrastructure is more important than ever.
Florida has about 255,000 EVs on the road, second only to California. But Optimus Energy Solutions founder Ben Pauluhn says building chargers moves at the speed of local bureaucrats and utility timelines.
"We just can't get (chargers) out in the field fast enough," he says. The Mount Dora company bought Duke Energy's South Carolina EV-charging network in June and has installed chargers at AdventHealth, UF Health and Orlando Health hospitals.
Would a fast charger at your go-to lunch spot change how you think about buying an EV?
