The good news about epoxy floors: maintenance is almost nothing. 🧽
The bad news is that the "almost" trips people up. We have seen beautiful floors dulled in a year because someone reached for the wrong bottle under the sink.
Here is the whole routine:
🧹 Sweep or dust mop regularly. Grit is the main enemy. Loose sand and debris act like sandpaper underfoot and slowly dull the gloss.
💧 Wipe spills promptly. Oil, brake fluid, paint, and pool chemicals will not eat through the coating, but they can leave a shadow if they sit for days.
🧼 Mop periodically with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Warm water and a little dish soap handles most of it. Skip the wax and skip the floor polish, they build up and turn cloudy.
🚫 Avoid muriatic acid, bleach, ammonia, and steel brushes. Those are the four that cause real damage. Soft bristle brush only.
That is it. No sealing, no refinishing, no annual service call. Save this post so it is there when you need it.
