We took half of a four car garage and turned it into a beautiful studio/office. We agreed upon a design and then I went to work on the framing, drywall, added windows, electrical wiring for lights, laid flooring, and got the trimming done. When I was an architectural consultant and owned my window business, this ranked as one of my favorite projects. I was so honored to work on it and the end result was majestic and yet cozy. That’s a tough pairing, but we did it.

Don’t let the drill fool you. This is a 100% handcrafted, hand-turned, wood pegged chair. The seat will be woven jute and a glider mechanism will be attached. First attempt. I’m excited to see how it goes and then evolve the chairs from there.

For personal/medical reasons, Danny isn’t doing heavy construction anymore. But that doesn’t mean he can keep out of his workshop. Over the last few months he’s made this stunning table for a friend. Solid red oak with two inserts - each insert has another leg for strengthening the middle. It can seat up to 12 people with the extensions. Last photo is the finished piece…still drying.

We came across some rotted window sills on a window restore we are doing. Water is the biggest enemy when dealing with wood around windows. But don’t worry, it’s fixable. We are cutting all new custom sills and replacing (the smelly) old ones. Gonna look good.

This is Joseph. He wanted to be an apprentice and learn construction and historical restoration and remodeling. We added Joseph to our little family business three months ago. He started at square one (reading a level and tape measure).

This week he has cut and hung drywall! We are so proud of him. We have worn him out- keeping up with Danny is quite the task. An incredible bond has been formed between teacher and student and we are so proud of Joseph for sticking with it when he was achy, tired and worn out.

Getting down and dirty. It’s plumbing time.
Install of drainage plumbing for an antique cast iron claw foot tub, second floor. There was no plumbing in the 1800’s so this is like inventing a puzzle and we love (almost) every minute of it.
