⚡Cooperation Among Cooperatives⚡
While many were celebrating over the July 4 holiday weekend, severe storms moved through Missouri leaving over 50,000 cooperative members without power. Our service area was mostly unaffected, allowing us to provide mutual aid to our sister cooperatives in need. OEC linemen John Banning, Chip Beerbower, Justin Fitzpatrick, Levi Glover, Parker Herd, Ethan Moenning, Jake Ray, and Vince Robison headed to Southwest Electric Cooperative (Bolivar) to provide assistance in restoring power to their members. Once Southwest was nearly restored, Levi, Ethan, Vince, and Justin moved to Gascosage Electric Cooperative (Dixon).

“Missouri’s electric cooperatives are built on cooperation, and mutual aid is one of the clearest examples of that,” says Caleb Jones, CEO of Missouri Electric Cooperatives. “We are grateful to the crews who are spending their holiday weekend ensuring our members continue to have safe, reliable and affordable electricity.”
