We are currently experiencing a large outage in the Valley View area affecting approximately 590 members. Our crews have identified the cause as a downed phase line resulting from lightning activity and are actively working to make repairs and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Outage update: Power has been restored to most areas affected by the transmission power supplier outage. The woodbine area is still experiencing an outage, but crews are actively working to restore service as quickly as possibly.

🚨 Service Interruption Notice 🚨

We are aware of a large outage affecting five substations south of Highway 82, east of Gainesville, north of Moss Lake, as well as areas north of Callisburg.

The outage is the result of a transmission issue being experienced by our transmission supplier. Restoration efforts are underway, but this is expected to be an extended outage.

We understand the inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience. We will share updates on Facebook as soon as more information becomes available.

PenTex crews are currently working to restore power near Highway 82 and FM 678. The outage was caused by a clipped guy wire, which resulted in tangled lines.

New System-Wide Meter Deployment Begins August 24, 2026

Beginning the week of August 24, 2026, PenTex Energy and our contractors, Second Sight Systems, will begin installing new electric meters throughout our service area. This system-wide upgrade will improve reliability and enhance service for our members.

Installation crews will:

• Arrive in a vehicle clearly marked with PenTex Energy door signage.
• Carry PenTex Energy identification badges.
• Knock on your door and announce their arrival before beginning work.

Members should expect a brief interruption of electric service while the new meter is installed.

This meter deployment is expected to take several months to complete. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to enhance the reliability and efficiency of our electric system. Please contact us at 940-759-2211 with any questions.
