Our season has finally come to a close. As many of you know, Team 930 had the amazing opportunity to attend the Houston World Championship again this year, through our hard work and dedication. After a 18 hour bus ride, we arrived in Houston, Texas Tuesday afternoon.
Prior to the competition, we attended the famous water wall, and held a small race in the park the have there. On Wednesday, we were given the opportunity to have a tour of the Houston Tunnels. Then, we went to the George R. Brown Center to start the practice matches.
Thursday and Friday were filled with qualifications matches on our Newton Division. This was a challenge for us, as there were teams from across the globe we got to compete with, all of which used different strategies than the teams we were used to is Wisconsin.
On Saturday, we started the day with the alliance selection. We ended up becoming the first pick of the 5th alliance, with our Captain second pick and our third pick
We lost our first match, but the proceeded to climb the ranks of our division by winning each match after, landing us in the finals of our division. While we did not move onto Einstein, we earned the right to call ourselves Newton finalists.
We’d like to give our congratulations to the first place alliance of the Newton Division, for becoming the world champion finalists. This was , , , and .
This was an amazing competition to end our season with, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We thank all of our students, especially our seniors, for bringing us to where we are.
