We are looking for reliable Heavy Equipment Operators to join our construction team. Operators needed include individuals experienced in operating any of the following pieces: bulldozers, loaders, excavators, graders, off-road trucks, compactors and a rock crusher. Dozer & excavator operators must be able to read survey stakes and has the ability to operate according to the stakes or GPS navigation. Demands require experience in heavy civil construction and the ability to work under limited direction and supervision of the Project Manager/Foreman. Previous experience of at least 3 years, must be capable of demonstrating proficiency in operating equipment, have sufficient oral skills to communicate effectively with coworkers and management and good social skills.

The duties and responsibilities of a General Laborer are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site while also supporting the overall project. No experience required. Must be reliable and hard working. Opportunities for advancement.
The list of duties and responsibilities for a General Laborer on any given day may include the following:
• Working outdoors – including times of inclimate weather
• Clearing, removing debris, and preparing construction sites
• Loading and unloading materials and equipment
• Shoveling, set braces to support the sides of excavations, compacting with a plate tamper and backfilling holes
• Providing assistance with heavy equipment
• Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans
• Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties, assembling & laying utility pipe
• Traffic Control (training will be provided)
• Operating hand and power tools of all types: tampers, shovels & hoes, chain saws, pipe saws, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments
• Performing general physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from jobsites and able to pass mandatory drug testing.

Qualifications:
A thorough understanding of diesel engines and heavy construction equipment is essential for this position. Person must possess knowledge of both on road and off road heavy machinery. Formal mechanical education and certification is desirable. Experience of at least 5 years working full time as a heavy equipment mechanic is required. Must have good social & organizational skills and the ability to work with others.

Responsibilities:
• Reports directly to Shop Manager who prioritizes equipment repairs.
• Heavy Equipment Mechanic repairs all assigned equipment belonging to Earth Solutions.
• Responsibilities may include equipment and vehicles maintenance if beyond the scope of the technicians or if they are unavailable or behind on maintenance. This may include regular oil changes, hydraulic oil changes, filter changes, blowing out radiators & greasing.
• Diagnosis and repair of equipment in disrepair.
• Educates coworkers in the proper care of equipment
• Prioritizes work with a goal that reduces the down time of equipment
• Responsible to place a lockout/tagout on equipment being worked on and completes work as quickly as possible. In the event a part is needed, the repair should be completed as soon as the part arrives.
• Coordinates major repairs that requires equipment down time with Shop Manager
• Is respectful to co-workers and coordinates repairs in such a way to minimize disruption of work
• May included other duties as determined by Shop Manager

This is a skilled supervisory position which requires extensive knowledge in the specific area of civil heavy construction. This individual may supervise the installation of underground utilities, excavation, grading, erosion control and drainage, transportation of material and hauling heavy equipment. Supervision is exercised over a crew of skilled and unskilled workers in crews assigned to individual projects. Work is performed under general direction of the site superintendent. Extensive knowledge and experience in the area of supervision is mandatory with at least 5 years of experience in field with supervisory responsibilities, effective communication and good social skills. Person must be drug free and willing to submit to routine drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities:
1) Plans, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of laborers, truck drivers, and equipment operators engaged in civil construction aimed at achieving project goals.
2) Supervises one or more crews engaged in the specific area of assignment (earthwork, pipe crew or transportation).
3) Pipe Crew Foreman supervises the installation of utility piping, the backfilling and compacting of trenches, the installation of trench shoring, trench boxes and safety measures used.
4) Earthwork Foreman supervises all excavation and grading crews.
5) Transportation Forman supervises all truck drivers and the hauling of equipment
6) All Foremen instruct and train employees in the safe operation of construction equipment and tools and in job techniques and skills needed for the completion of the task.
7) Prepares time and other required reports; recommends purchase of tools, equipment, and material.
8) Performs related work as required.
9) Reports to Superintendent or Project Manager

• Operates various heavy pieces of equipment used to excavate, move, and grade earth such as bulldozers, loaders, excavators, graders, off-road trucks, compactors and a rock crusher.

• Interacts with construction general laborers and/or crew members who are facilitating alignment, movement, and adjustment of the equipment to complete conformation of grade specifications for the construction project.

• Performing other construction duties as needed.
