We have released mqTrains-ServoPCA firmware for ESP01 devices. Details and links are available at mqTrains.com. This is free to download.

This firmware drives up to 16 servo motors for controlling turnouts (or anything else).

User-specific configuration is done using the ESP01's internal Access Point and Web Server.

mqTrains communicates with JMRI via the MQTT protocol so turnouts can be controlled like any other turnouts in JMRI. It does not use DCC for communication so works with any DCC brand or without DCC!

Turnouts can also be controlled directly using the ESP01's web page and your smart phone. Or any with any other software tool that has an MQTT library.

Have fun.

Ok, the .bin file for the mqTrains Servo board is about to walk into the wild! What do you need to do? On Windows: install the NodeMCU-Flasher ( https://github.com/nodemcu/nodemcu-flasher ) and the MQTT server, mosquitto ( https://mosquitto.org/ ). And, ask Windows to create a hole for the application in the firewall.

If you are in the Linux or Pi world: sudo apt-get install mosquitto mosquitto-clients python python-pip
sudo pip install esptool

Ready?

Version 2.0 has been released! The full details are available on the blog post. Eclipse Mosquitto is an open source (EPL/EDL licensed) message broker that implements the MQTT protocol ve
