There’s a whole side of remodeling that happens long before demo day. 👀

We recently sat down with potential clients to walk through the initial design concept and preliminary investment for their master bathroom renovation.

This is one of my favorite parts of the process because it gives us a chance to take all of the ideas we’ve discussed and turn them into something the homeowners can actually see.

We walk through the proposed layout, talk about the design choices, review the estimated investment, and make any changes needed before moving into the final estimate, contract, and scheduling.

Sometimes that means changing a finish. Sometimes we rethink part of the layout. Sometimes we look at where we can save and where it makes sense to invest a little more.

The goal is to work through those decisions before construction begins so everyone has a clear picture of what we’re building and what to expect.

One of the most exciting days in a remodel is when the custom pieces start arriving!

The vanity has officially arrived and been set in place, which means we’re ready for countertop templating!

In his defense, he has way more to remember than setting up the tripod and filming 🤣

His main priority is getting the job done beautifully over anything else, and that mission was accomplished! We love the look of mastic penny tile and will be sharing the finished product soon!

We recently picked up tile from in Hayesville, NC for a bathroom remodel.

Carl Patterson offers a wide range of products from carpet, vinyl flooring, hardwood and tile! The showroom does a great job at displaying products, and we especially like the section with suggested accent tiles which helps homeowners see different pairing options. Working with Carl Patterson’s was easy, and we look forward to using them again for future projects.

For this master bathroom project, we picked up:
- Penny tile mosaic for the shower floor
- 12x24 tile for the shower walls & bench
- Wood-look tile for the bathroom floor

We recently started another bathroom remodel in Murphy, NC and wanted to show you a little behind the scenes of our process!

Before any work begins, we always take our time to prepare the home as best as possible. We like using RAM board to protect all flooring, and lay it out along the path we intend to use in and out of the home. Then we put up the ZipWall to create a dust barrier, as demo in particular kicks up a LOT of dust.

Once set up, demolition can begin! For this project everything had to go! We usually start with removing the tub structure, and then work out way around the room. For this bathroom we removed the toilet, vanity, wall miror, and closet. Flooring is usually the last to go once all other pieces are removed.

With demo complete, the next step is prep and rough in! We can’t wait to share more about this project. Be sure to follow along over the next few weeks to see the finished transformation as well.
