📚 Change of Hours Notice from the Murphys Library 📚

We want to let our community know that, starting this week and going forward, the Murphys Library will unfortunately be closed on Saturdays.

We know weekends are a treasured day when many of you stop in after a hectic week. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
Please note that the Arnold and San Andreas branches will be open on Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm.

We are open Tuesday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm. We are grateful for your patience and understanding as we navigate this change.

GANN FIRE — PUBLIC ADVISORY

As residents begin to repopulate properties in areas directly affected by the Gann Fire, they will assess the extent of any losses or damages. We are asking for your assistance in documenting these impacts as part of the County’s ongoing damage assessment process.

AGRICULTURAL LOSSES:

Anyone who has lost agricultural crops as a result of the Gann Fire is asked to contact the Calaveras County Agriculture, Weights & Measures Department at: 209-754-6504

STRUCTURE & COUNTY ROAD DAMAGE:

Anyone needing to report damage to structures or county roads resulting from the Gann Fire is asked to contact the Calaveras County Building Department at: 209-754-6380

Please contact the County Assessor’s Office for valuation questions for damaged and/or destroyed real property or vessels. Calaveras County Assessors’ Office phone number is (209) 754-6356.

🚨 GANN FIRE – ROAD CLOSURES & SAFETY INFORMATION 🚨

Due to the Gann Fire, hard road closures are currently in effect at the following locations:

🚧 Pool Station Road at Cement Plant Road
🚧 Pool Station Road at SR-4
🚧 Hogan Dam Road at Gann Road
🚧 Hogan Dam Road at Hunt Road

If you have a Ranch Pass issued through the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, you must present your Ranch Pass and a valid photo ID at the hard closures for verification.

🔥 Fire Safety Reminder 🔥

Wildfire conditions can change rapidly. Please help keep yourself and your family safe by being prepared before you travel.

Keep these emergency items in your vehicle:
✅ Drinking water
✅ Non-perishable snacks
✅ Cell phone charger or power bank
✅ Flashlight with extra batteries
✅ First aid kit
✅ Prescription medications
✅ Emergency blanket
✅ Important documents or copies
✅ Full tank of fuel whenever possible

Please avoid the affected area, follow directions from law enforcement and fire personnel, and never drive around barricades or road closure signs.

Stay informed through official updates and monitor local emergency notifications.
