This Earth Day, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work! Carver Pump came together for a friendly challenge to see who could make the biggest impact—and the results were incredible.

From picking up litter to beautifying our surroundings, every small action added up to something meaningful. Not only did we help create a cleaner environment, but we also strengthened our teamwork and had a great time doing it. One Team even managed to find mushrooms.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and showed that when we work together, we can make a real difference. 🌱

Let’s keep the momentum going—because caring for our planet shouldn’t stop at Earth Day!

As our country approaches its 250th anniversary, Carver Pump is taking a moment to celebrate our own history. We recently uncovered our Army-Navy “E” Award, presented on June 14, 1945, by the WWII War Department in recognition of excellence in war material production.

We’re proud to share this piece of our legacy and honor the role our company played during a pivotal time in history.

Today, Carver Pump had the opportunity to show the Crossroads Group around the shop. It was a great experience for all.

From Melissa Freese - “Crossroads Day Habilitation in Muscatine took a tour at Carver Pump today. We enjoyed getting to see behind the scenes of what Carver Pump does. We were fascinated by the big machines and how the machinists used them to make many different things. We also had the bonus of getting to see them knock a wall down as they were working on an expansion of the facility. Thank you Carver Pump, Megan, and Matt for allowing us to be a part of this and being so kind/welcoming. we hope to come again. “

Several Carver Pump employees who have taken skilled trades classes through EICC were honored to attend the ribbon cutting celebrating the reopening of the newly expanded Muscatine Community College Technology Center. Nearly half (47%) of our current skilled trades team has completed a course or full program through EICC. We’re incredibly grateful to have these expanded programs right here in Muscatine. The future success of Carver Pump is strongly connected to the success of these programs—for both high school academy students and adult learners.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to go to the Muscatine High School and chat with the iJAG classes about what life is like at Carver Pump. Hoping we sparked some interest in our facility, the skilled trades, and even a bit of Muscatine history. Huge thanks to Mike and Eric for proudly representing our team and sharing your experiences!

Key A key objective of iJAG is to assist students in identifying potential career paths after high school. The presentation offered valuable insight into local employment opportunities in Muscatine through Carver Pump. It allowed students to gain a clearer understanding of career options available to them after graduation.

Carver Pump Company was proud to host its annual Soup and Chili Cookoff fundraiser, with this year’s proceeds benefiting the MCSA Food Pantry.

With the help of our guest judges: Chief of Police Tony Kies, Mayor Brad Bark, City Administrator Matt Mardesen, and even Santa himself, winners were selected for prizes ranging from gift cards to extra time off.

Thanks to the generosity of our employees, $310 was raised, a contribution that Pantry Coordinator Sam Slutts expressed sincere gratitude for.

After completing their first internship rotation, Project SEARCH interns participated in training week. This is a week where interns participate in different community and volunteer-based activities to help prepare them for life after high school. To develop a better understanding of different community businesses, Project SEARCH interns toured Carver Pump to learn about the company, the various jobs within the company and the importance of Carver Pump to the city of Muscatine and beyond.

After gaining hands-on experience in their Muscatine High school Intro to Machining course, students visited Carver Pump Company to see how the concepts they practice in class—such as precision measurement and manual machining on lathes and mills—are applied in a real industrial setting to produce high-quality components. Experiencing these skills in action not only deepened their understanding of the importance, scale, and impact of machining beyond the classroom, but also highlighted how essential skilled trades are to the future.
As industries continue to innovate and expand, the demand for knowledgeable, highly trained machinists will only grow, making these students’ early exposure and training invaluable to the next generation of manufacturing.

Today we had the opportunity to participate in the MCC Career Day, an event designed for sophomore and junior high school students from area schools to gain valuable insights into employability skills, explore potential career pathways, and learn more about one of our academies.
The students had a chance to tour the facility, learning about types of jobs we have, and the skills needed to do those jobs. Maybe we will see some of these students after they graduate in a year or two.

Thanks EICC for including us in the great event.
