Over the years, we’ve learned a number of lessons being in business. Some of them harder than others. One of the lessons in our trade is the importance building quality relationships with our customers. We aren’t sitting in rooms full of suits fixing make believe issues- We’re in the ditches solving real problems alongside our customers. They aren’t hiring us to beat around the bush, they’re losing money and need to get back to work. Solving this customer’s problem required sourcing quality tooling to break through ultra hard northern PA rock. USA made Brunner & Lay breaker tooling is up for the task! We offered free delivery to their job-site in Frackville PA for the RT 61 widening project. Plus, what blue-collar crew doesn’t like a surprise lunch from Mission BBQ to show our appreciation for their business? We are always looking for new ways to provide value to our customers that help us stand out from the competition.

Making monster repairs and great memories this week at KPC! Check out this behemoth 500 Ton press cylinder that is used to straighten large steel bars. Everything about a repair job like this is completely custom as the machinery is typically very old, and no longer supported. This particular cylinder has a 26” bore with an 18” diameter rod. This cylinder weighs in at about 12,000 lbs when assembled and takes an experienced crew to handle safely. We’ll be pressure testing overnight before delivering back to the customer, so if you have any cans that need crushed, stop on in! But seriously- if your industrial process involves hydraulics rotating parts or other required maintenance, give us a call to talk about how we can “keep you moving”. Thanks for following! -KPC

We have been extremely busy in the machine shop lately building custom, one-off hydraulic cylinders. Check out the progress photos of the huge molding press cylinder we are building 100% from scratch. We engineered and machined every component in house. We work directly with the best seal manufactures to provide high performing seal designs specific to the application. We utilize USA made steel for our cylinders as well. This cylinder is 10 feet long and that steel mounting plate on the end is 26” square x 3-1/4” thick to support the massive amount of force exerted while in service. The last things to do are pressure test, followed by prime, paint and final delivery back to the customer’s facility. This particular cylinder’s job is to press hot rubber into the “cool” mats you see in gymnasium and weight room floors and walls. We are experts at problem solving and insist on providing our customers with true craftsmanship and value in exchange for their business. Thanks for following along! -KPC

A time consuming, but relatively simple project for this week’s post. Below is a series of large, heavy wall auger tubes and components we custom machined for the ag industry. There was a series of operations involved- Turning, boring, cross drilling, slitting, and welding. We have the capabilities to turn up to 34” in diameter and about 14 feet long. These will get assembled and then welded in the field. Being specialists in repair and custom work, we can almost always come up with solutions to our customer’s needs. Thanks for following!

Just a few quick snapshots from the week. We often get “you guys do that???” From customers. So we like to show all the different projects that run through the shop on the daily. We service and repair heavy equipment, dump truck and roll-offs, commercial and industrial manufacturing equipment. We even built a custom made hydraulic sausage stuffer for a customer. Please reach out with your equipment problems- solving them is what we do!

Ohh, and we are also stocking distributors for many industry manufacturers. The last picture is a truckload of Spill Tackle bio-friendly oil absorbent getting delivered to a customer in Reading.

Lots of good stuff going on lately! After a long wait, we recently took delivery of our new, custom built Rousseau Metals hose assembly workstation. It is finished in none other than “KPC” blue! We are working hard to maximize our inventory, efficiency and overall organization and cleanliness in the shop. We want to be your one stop location for nearly any hose assembly to get you back to work quickly. On the counter you’ll see we got right into it with a 50 assembly order of quality, USA made NRP Jones DOT hose assemblies. We stock many different types of Hydraulic, DOT and industrial hose products, adapters and quick couplers. We sell to retail and offer wholesale discounts for large orders and to resellers. We also save part numbers and build kits, so that as a customer you can place an order over the phone and we will have it ready for you to pick up, almost always the same day. We tried our luck with a second helper tonight. He made it about 2 miles further down I78 than the last copilot. Really struggling to find good help these days! Maybe it was the music?? We’ll keep trying.
