What does the evaporator coil do?
The evap coil is responsible for absorbing the heat and moisture in your home. Without the evap coil, your AC unit will not cool off your home. As warm air from inside your home passes over the coils, the refrigerant in the evap coils absorb the heat and moisture from the air. From there, the refrigerant travels through the lines that go to the outdoor unit. The heat is then dumped into the outdoor air.
