Challenging “little” project! Our client dreamed up this fix because the original roof design left a cavity right over his patio where the weather came in. So we filled it in w/ multiple levels of flashing, metal roofing, tongue&groove cedar on the underside. Not uncomplicated!

We recently finished reinvigorating this backyard pergola in Nampa. A really fun project for a really fun new client. We removed all the old fir rafters, sanded the posts & beams down to fresh wood, installed new Port Orford cedar rafters, and then thick sturdy lattice on top. We sealed all the wood, new & old, including the lattice!

And one more thing ... the clients had a big family gathering while we were building the deck. We were warned in advanc...

And one more thing ... the clients had a big family gathering while we were building the deck. We were warned in advance that an older brother, an elder statesman of home repair & woodworking, might have a lot to say about our work. It turned out that he was impressed with the deck, and actually gave us some tips that were very helpful!

Vicky, his sister, wanted to give him a tour of their home and all the remodels they had done in the five years since he had last visited. She told him he was not allowed to say anything but "Wow!" No critiques! She led him around their large house with some very high end beautiful remodels - a new kitchen, a bathroom straight out of a glossy magazine. He said nothing ...

When they came to the sitting room, he stopped. He had to see the mantle up close that was scribed into their stone chimney - this was one of our first projects for them. It was the only thing he got excited about!

This is the highest praise you could hope for.

The Deck!

We just completed a big deck project, working through these weeks of 100+ temp. days! Luckily, we have been working for a wonderful couple here in Nampa, Lisle & Vicky, the best clients you could hope for, and great friends & neighbors on top of that.

Originally we were going to add on to the existing structure and replace the decking, but it turned into a total rebuild, which included a whole series of firsts for Alexi's Handyman Service. Vicky likes to challenge us!
