Now that’s really cool

This beautiful sculpture was built by the Irish people in their own country to honor the American Choctaw Indian tribe. They were grateful because in 1847 the Choctaw people sent money to Ireland when they learned that Irish people were starving due to the potato famine. The Choctaw themselves were living in hardship and poverty, having recently endured the Trail of Tears.
And that is a lesson in how to be a person in this world.
Kindred Spirits is a large stainless steel outdoor sculpture in Bailick Park in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland. The shape of the feathers is intended to represent a bowl of food.

While no one likes an unpleasant odor in the home, some people don’t realize they are more than just annoying but are usually also a sign that something is awry. That’s true whether such smells increase over time or not.

Sadly, one of the most dangerous indoor air contaminants we encounter in ductwork is also the most common in older homes.

For decades, asbestos was found in paint, ceiling and floor tiles, construction materials, etc.

Thankfully, asbestos was banned by the EPA, but if you still live in a home that was built 30 years ago or longer, chances are the substance is in your home. And it’s likely circulated many times over through your HVAC system and can be found throughout your ductwork, too.

A significant but extremely common sign that your air ducts are very dirty is when your air vents emit dust or become covered with dust themselves.

When that happens, you’re way past due for an air duct cleaning. This is a sign that the build-up has gotten so bad that your HVAC system must push dust out of the air ducts in order to keep air flowing. It also means the air you’re breathing in is that dirty and that your HVAC system is running much less efficiently.
