Warning to people that has had your roof installed or replaced one or 2 years back.

I went out on a service call last week. The customer asked me go on the roof and adjust the rubber boot on a vent flashing. Because she had a inspector give her a picture of it with a fold in the boot. This inspection was done a year ago.
When I got on the roof. I discovered that 6 of the 7 boot flashings had serious rips in them. I have never seen this in the 35 years in business. I advised the customer to call the contractor that I stalled the roof. She did and found out that the manufacturer of the boots had a recall on these boots because they had not been treated with uv protection.
The roofing contractor said they would come and replace for free.
If I had not found these problems. They could have had serious damage to their ceiling and insulation. I recommend getting these vent boots inspected before the rain and snow hits. That is if you fall in this timeline.
