Joseph Patrick Brett had been in the air conditioning business in Northern Ohio for 16 years when he and his family relocated to Sunny Naples in 1972. The warm climate and the community's needs allowed the family to serve, and J.P. was launched as a family business. Dan Brett (the oldest of 9) graduated from Akron University and moved to Naples to work on the service side of the company. He met hi
s wife, Debbie, a short time later, and they were married in the Fall of 1977. Dan and Debbie have been at the helm for over 40 years, running day-to-day operations. For the last 10 years, Dan and Debbie have worked closely with their Son-in-law Benjamin Coakley (Married to daughter Jami Coakley), daughter Krystal Casey (Married to Son-in-law Brian Casey), and Son-in-law Casey Merriam (Married to daughter Monica Merriam) to ensure that the next generation holds the same values and integrity the company has been running over the past 50+ years. Dan and Debbie wanted to ensure that the future generation had the experience, knowledge, and understanding of their family brand from the ground up. Our Values and Integrity are at the heart of JP Brett & Sons' operations, and our mission statement clearly explains this.

Over the past five years, Dan has slowly reduced his days at the office, entrusting the next generation to oversee the business's day-to-day operations. In October 2024, Dan officially retired as President of JP Brett & Sons, turning the company over to his three daughters and their husbands. Reflecting on the last 50 years, Dan would like to Thank the Naples Community for making our family business a success.
