Our DT Gator Grips are the best option when you require soft jaws on a self-centering vise. With no socket cap screws in the way you can hold much larger parts making 2nd ops that much easier. In the near future we will be offering compatible DT Gator Grips for the brand 5th axis’ V75100X and V562X self-centering vises, along with other self-centering vise brands. Alright fellow machinists, I need your opinion on a new product that we are going to be offering in the near future. Our device for holding machinable jaws on self centering vises is now patent pending and we can finally show. How many times have you wanted to use machinable jaws on a self centering vise, but it won’t work because the socket head cap screws get in the way or other machinable jaw solutions give little to no room to hold a decent sized part. About a year ago, I thought of this solution and have been using it in our machine shop since and it really comes in handy and gives a rigid hold on parts. Necessity really is the mother of invention. We call them D.T. Gator Grips. They are made from 17-4 hardened to the H900 condition and are extremely strong. The rear dovetail profile is in a V shape to help locate machinable jaw along with giving the jaw more rigidity from side as well as front to back. We plan to offer premade machinable jaws, as well, in various sizes to be able to hold a variety of different sized parts. Please give your thoughts about our solution. We plan to make these for the larger 5th axis V562X self centering vise along with other self centering vise brands. Let us know your thoughts.
