Airtruck is a multi-mission UAV that can carry over 1,000 pounds of useful load and Sprayhawk is an agricultural UAV that can spray fields automatically from a 110-Gallon onboard tank.

Airtruck and Sprayhawk are built on the legendary Robinson R44 helicopter platform – with more than 40 million hours in service.

Unmanned Robinsons are designed to take on dull, dirty, and dangerous missions without putting pilots at risk.

The Rotor team will be at the VAI Verticon Conference at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Conference Center in Dallas, March 10-13. On display at Booth 1310 will be one of Rotor’s R&D fleet of R550 aircraft (N278KE) in an Airtruck configuration along with a dual-pilot mobile Ground Country Station (GCS). Rotor Technologies is proud to announce The National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) has confirmed that the Rotor R550 Sprayhawk unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is compliant with ANAC’s Special Regulation for Unmanned Aircraft of Civilian Use, enabling commercial agricultural operations to begin in Brazil.

The permission applies to the commercial application of agrochemicals, adjuvants, fertilizers, inoculants, correctives, and seeds over uninhabited areas and operated under visual line-of-sight (VLOS) or extended visual line-of-sight (EVLOS) conditions, with an operational ceiling of up to 400 feet (120 meters) AGL. Operations will begin with a remote safety pilot who must have a Commercial Pilot License and complete Rotor’s factory training.

ANAC is the first regulatory body globally to allow commercial operations for the Sprayhawk. Rotor is currently seeking FAA approval for commercial agricultural operations in the U.S. through exceptions, similar to those granted for other agricultural UAVs such as the DJI Agras T50.

The Sprayhawk is a cutting-edge UAV designed for high-efficiency agricultural applications. The 110-gallon spray tank and 33-foot spray booms are capable of covering up to 240 acres per hour. This productivity matches or exceeds traditional manned aircraft, making it suitable for large-scale operations. Equipped with advanced technologies like cameras, radar, lidar sensors, and terrain-following algorithms, the Sprayhawk can detect obstacles, follow pre-programmed paths, and adjust its spray patterns autonomously. This ensures precise application and minimizes waste.
