“Wood Comes From Trees” is the opening line from R. Bruce Hoadley’s foundational work “Understanding Wood”. While a very simple and obvious-sounding statement, it actually contains an important truth that is easy to forget the more a person deals with wood as a “product”. We’ve had this beautiful piece of Silver Maple kicking around the shop for a few years; we thought it was the perfect piece, with all of it’s twists, turns and peculiarities, to exemplify this statement. This will get hung up in the shop.
