On Memorial Day, we pause to remember the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who have given their lives in service to our nation. We are grateful for their sacrifice and mindful of the responsibility we all share to honor their memory as we enjoy the freedoms secured for us by their valor.

Christiana, TN is becoming an epicenter of agrivoltaic research.

On April 30, we gathered at Miller’s Grocery in Christiana, Tennessee, for a CattleTracker™ workshop—an important next step following the official launch of CattleTracker earlier that morning at our Christiana Solar Ranch alongside our partners at Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE).

The workshop was led by our Chief Technology Officer, Nick de Vries, and rangeland ecosystem scientist Anna Clare Monlezun, PhD (Graze LLC). It also featured presentations from Jesse Worek, CFA of our Project Finance team; Loran Shallenberger, our Vice President of Regenerative Energy and Agrivoltaics; Taylor Bacon, Graduate Research Assistant at Colorado State University; and Keith Paustian, Distinguished Professor at Colorado State University.

We were also pleased to welcome advisors from DNV, Solar Energy Industries Association, and the University of Georgia, along with partners and friends from FM, American Farmland Trust (AFT), The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Piedmont Environmental Council, Nextpower, and the National Laboratory of the Rockies's InSPIRE program.

Together, this group explored how CattleTracker™—a cattle-compatible agrivoltaics platform—is advancing renewable energy production and regenerative grazing on working lands in ways that are good for solar generation, good for the land, and good for the animal.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined the conversation and contributed to such a meaningful milestone—bringing rigor, collaboration, and real-world insight to commercial-scale agrivoltaics in Tennessee.

A new era for cattle grazing and energy production is here—and you can read all about it from the Associated Press (AP) in the article linked below.

At a special on-site event last Thursday, Silicon Ranch brought together ranchers, industry partners, and community leaders in Christiana, Tennessee, to launch , our patented platform for co-producing cattle livestock and solar energy on the same piece of land. When the Associated Press visited the project for themselves, they found "lush pasture instead of gravel" under the panels, enjoyed by a herd of cattle that spends its days munching grass and resting in the shade.

This moment in Christiana reflects something bigger: a forward-looking model where clean energy infrastructure and working lands come together to create lasting value for farmers, communities, America's energy infrastructure, and domestic manufacturing.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us to mark this milestone—and to our partners in the agriculture and energy sectors who are helping lead the way.

Today, Silicon Ranch officially launched CattleTracker™ at the Christiana Solar Ranch in Middle Tennessee—the first‑ever commercial deployment of a patented solar tracking system designed specifically to integrate regenerative cattle grazing with utility‑scale solar energy generation. This project represents a major milestone in the history of American energy and agriculture.

While grazing livestock alongside solar has been explored in small research settings, Christiana Solar Ranch represents something fundamentally different. CattleTracker™ is a commercially viable platform, developed through years of rigorous, real‑world research, that allows cattle to safely graze beneath and around solar panels while maintaining optimal energy production. The result is an approach that is good for solar generation, good for the land, and good for the animal.

Developed and owned by Silicon Ranch in partnership with Middle Tennessee Electric, Christiana Solar Ranch is already delivering value to more than 750,000 Tennesseans—while also serving as a proof point for how thoughtful solar design can support agriculture at true commercial scale.

Christiana Solar Ranch also reflects Silicon Ranch’s commitment to American manufacturing and American workers. The project generates energy using made‑in‑America solar panels, trackers, and torque tubes, strengthening domestic supply chains and supporting jobs across the country, including:

• First Solar modules – Perrysburg, Ohio
• Nextpower torque tubes – Memphis, Tennessee
• Federal Pacific switchgear – Bristol, Virginia
• Eaton transformers – Waukesha, Wisconsin
• Shoals combiner boxes – Portland, Tennessee
• Qualico steel piles – Webb, Alabama

As our co‑founder and CEO Reagan Farr shared at today’s launch, CattleTracker™ was born at the intersection of American energy, American manufacturing, and American farming—three sectors under growing pressure to evolve together. By opening up vast stretches of land for two purposes at once, this project lays the groundwork for a meaningful boost to both America’s cattle ranchers and our renewable energy future, helping secure a more reliable supply of both food and power for Americans.

We love seeing our partners tell the story of how energy and agriculture can thrive together.

In this recent blog post, Volkswagen highlights our solar farm at its Volkswagen Chattanooga operations, managed through our Regenerative Energy® program. This land is cared for by our sheep, our shepherds, and our hard‑working ani-mule forward security team, whose daily work supports healthy vegetation, soil stewardship, and reliable solar generation.

This is agrivoltaics in action: pairing renewable energy infrastructure with regenerative grazing practices that are good for the land, good for the animals, and good for long‑term operations. It’s also a great example of how strong partnerships can turn sustainability goals into real, on‑the‑ground outcomes.

We appreciate Volkswagen for spotlighting this work and for being a thoughtful partner as we continue advancing solutions that connect energy innovation with responsible land use.
