If you own one of East Nashville's charming bungalows or renovated Craftsman homes, here's something you might not have thought about: your thermostat placement could be the reason your home never feels quite right.
A lot of East Nashville homes were built in the early 1900s - long before anyone thought about optimal HVAC efficiency. And if you've done renovations (added windows, knocked down walls, opened up the kitchen), your thermostat might now be in a terrible spot even if it was fine 50 years ago.
If your thermostat is:
❌ In direct sunlight (from that beautiful new window you added)
❌ Near a heat source (open-concept kitchen, fireplace)
❌ In a drafty hallway
❌ Near an exterior door
..it's getting bad temperature readings and making your system work way harder than it needs to.
Your HVAC thinks your whole house is the same temp as that one spot. So if your thermostat is sitting in a sunny hallway, your AC will run constantly trying to cool a house that's already comfortable.
This is especially common in renovated historic homes where the layout has changed but the thermostat stayed put.
Location matters. If your home never feels quite right despite a working system, give us a call. We can help determine whether placement is the issue.
